Lavvotunet Dokka / Stormbringer Hard Rock Club
On August 31st, Wig Wam and KISS Forever Band played in Dokka, Norway. Dokka happens to be only 15 minutes drive from my parents' house, so it wasn't really a question whether we should go or not - especially considering the rumours that were going around that this would be Wig Wam's last show ever! However, there was only one problem: You had to be 18+ to get in, and at the time I was 16. I contacted the man responsible for the club that arranged the show, and we came to the agreement that Benjamin and I could work during the show (which also meant we could get in for free!).
Wig Wam is a Norwegian glam metal band, most famous for winning the National Song Contest here in Norway in 2005 with the song In My Dreams. I actually saw them live once way back then, when they played at Gjøvikmarken, and a few years ago when Åge Sten Nilsen (known as "Glam" to Wig Wam fans) did a solo gig inside the mall in Gjøvik.
When KISS Forever Band got on stage, Benjamin and I ran up to see them. We were selling merchandise with two others, but one of them wasn't that into KISS and didn't mind standing there while we saw them. They knew their stuff, and I am very sure their drummer was in fact Eric Singer.
After some further waiting it was time for Wig Wam to enter the stage. This time Benjamin and I had to spend more time in the merch stand though, but it was only a few metres away from the stage so we had a pretty good view anyway. They did an awesome show, used lots of pyro and made the show a worthy last one.
We had a great night there, and we are both sad that it was the last Wig Wam show ever - but we hope to see them again in their future bands and projects!
